PSG warned over Luyindula treatment

The French Football League (LFP) has told PSG that they are in violation of the professional football charter for forcing striker Peguy Luyindula to train with the club's reserves.

Luyindula, 32, has been at the Parc des Princes for four years but was deemed surplus to requirements by PSG coach Antoine Kombouare at the beginning of this season, with the former France striker not included in Les Parisiens first-team squad.

Since then, Luyindula has been training on reserve team pitches, but LFP rules state that players who have a professional contract with a club should not be denied the opportunity to use first-team facilities and French football's governing body have now urged PSG to reinstate him into the senior squad.

Andre Soulier, head of legal at LFP, told Reuters: "There is a pitch for the professional squad, which is guarded and which you can't access without permission, and another one, on the other side of the street, for the reserves, as well as for a local rugby club,"

"According to the LFP regulations, it violates the terms of article 507 of the professional football charter. So until PSG ask for an exemption, we urge them to reinstate Peguy Luyindula."

Luyindula has scored 19 goals in 130 league games for PSG, who currently sit atop the Ligue 1 table, and played six times for France between 2004 and 2009.
