Kolo Toure fined six weeks' wages
Kolo Toure has accepted a fine of six weeks' wages from Manchester City following his failed drugs test, the club have confirmed.
Toure was given a six month ban by the World Anti-Doping agency in May - backdated to March - after taking one of his wife's slimming pills, containing a banned substance, to help control his weight.
City took no further action at the time but held a disciplinary hearing into the incident last month and have now fined Toure what amounts to around £740,000.
A club statement read: "Following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process, Manchester City Football Club can confirm that Kolo Toure has received a fine of six weeks' wages which relates to doping offences committed by him earlier this year.
"Kolo accepts the decision and he and the Club now wish to draw a line under this matter and focus on the season ahead."
Toure, who made his playing comeback from the suspension in September, faced losing his lucrative image rights as and called in the PFA to represent him during disciplinary proceedings with City.
