PSG held, Lyon lose

Paris St Germain missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bordeaux.

Mohamed Sissoko opened the scoring for the capital club on 10 minutes but the lead lasted just three minutes before Yoan Gouffran netted the equaliser.

That meant big-spending PSG remained three points clear of the chasing pack on a weekend in which none of the top-six managed a win.

Second-placed Montpellier slipped up after they were held to a 1-1 draw by St Etienne.

Banel Nicolita opened the scoring for St Etienne in the 33rd minute before Joris Marveaux levelled the score in the second half for Les Pailladins.

Lyon's title hopes suffered a blow after they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Sochaux.

An Aly Cissokho own goal and a Ryan Boudebouz penalty two minutes from half-time sandwiched a Lyon equaliser by Alexandre Lacazette as Remi Garde's side went down to their fourth successive away defeat.

Marseille's improved league form continued as they registered their third successive win with two second half goals seeing off local rivals Nice 2-0.

The visitors gave a good account of themselves - hitting the woodwork twice in the opening half an hour - but eventually succumbed to a 75th-minute Jordan Ayew header and a Loic Remy penalty deep into stoppage time.

Auxerre ended their torrid run of form after they beat Toulouse 2-0 at Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps.

Teenager Yaya Sanogo scored his first Ligue 1 goal before Roy Contout sealed the win two minutes before the final whistle. The win is Auxerre's first in five league games and moves them up a place into 12th while Toulouse remain in fifth place, level on points with Lyon.

Rennes had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Valenciennes as Remi Gomis struck to earn his side a share of the spoils.

Rennes had taken the lead after 20 minutes when Jires Kembo-Ekoko struck but Valenciennes were on level terms less than ten minutes later as Gomis completed the scoring.

A pair of second-half goals ensured Lorient maintained their unbeaten home record with a 2-0 win against bottom club Ajaccio.

The hosts had to bide their time before Yann Jouffre and Gilles Sunu scored inside the final half hour to extend Ajaccio's winless run to eight games.

Caen ended a four-match winless run in Ligue 1 in some style as a 3-0 victory pushed Dijon into the relegation zone with a comfortable win.

Gregory Leca opened the scoring in the 36th minute and a quickfire double from Frederic Bulot and Pierre-Alain Frau midway through the second half wrapped up the points.

Daniel Niculae struck two minutes from time to claim Nancy's second victory of the season as they beat Brest 2-1 to leapfrog Dijon to move up one place to 18th.

Jung Jo-Gook put the hosts ahead after 64 minutes but the game appeared to be heading for a draw after Benoit Lesoimier's equaliser five minutes from time. However, Niculae's late intervention saw Nancy become one of four clubs on 11 points while Brest still have just one victory and nine draws to stand 14th.
