Majstorovic shrugs off critics

Celtic defender Daniel Majstorovic insists he could not care less about his critics.

• Celtic fight back to win

Majstorovic has come in for more than his share of stick this season as the Hoops have fallen into third place in the Scottish Premier League, three points behind Motherwell and 12 behind leaders Rangers, albeit they have a game in hand over both clubs. The Sweden international was dropped by boss Neil Lennon and indeed is arguably only back in the side due to injuries although he had a fine game in last night's 3-1 Europa League win over Rennes at Parkhead.

However, ahead of the trip to Fir Park on Sunday, he had an answer to those who remain unconvinced about his credentials.

"I don't really care about this,'' he said. I am 34 years old and I am experienced player, this is part of the game. There are always people who have their own opinions but we just have to rely on the quality we have in the squad and keep on going.

"To be honest, at the beginning of the season I didn't come up to my normal standard but now I feel I am really back on track, back to my best and I felt really good last night. The back four has not been settled so it has not been perfect yet but there is a long, long, way to go.''

Majstorovic admits he has had to come to terms with being left out of the team.

"This is something new to me,'' he said. "I'm not used to it but it is something you just need to handle and take in a professional way. There have been a lot of games and international games so you have to rotate a little bit.''
