Steve Bruce has admitted Nicklas Bendtner can be a "headache" for managers, but the Sunderland boss is delighted to have the Dane spearheading his attack.
Bendtner was farmed out on loan to Sunderland after slipping down the pecking order at Arsenal, but he has the confidence of Bruce and showed his class by firing the Black Cats to victory at Bolton.
It was a win that eases the pressure on Bruce and prompted him to lavish praise on the forward.
"I had the privilege of managing him when he was 18 at Birmingham and he can cause you a headache at times but that's Nick," Bruce said. "He's certainly brightened up our dressing room just at the right time.
"You forget he's only 23. He's just got Denmark through after scoring against Portugal. He's done really well for us.
"I don't care how good you are and what team you play for, if you don't play week-in and week-out, it becomes very, very difficult.
"He's a very good finisher with both feet and his head. There's no reason why he can't get you 15 goals a year."
