Lorient are ready to reward striker Jeremie Aliadiere with a three-year contract extension after impressing in his early games for the club.
The former Arsenal and Middlesbrough forward is currently injured with a thigh problem, but he is close to signing on until 2015 with the Ligue 1 club.
Aliadiere, 28, initially joined Lorient for one year, but the club inserted the option to prolong his stay.
Lorient president Loic Fery told L'Equipe: "We had planned to see to it at the end of the month, but it is almost done.
"The conditions were agreed, so there is no need to discuss that, and both sides want to extend the deal.''
