Veteran Racing Santander boss Hector Cuper believes that Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side are the best team he's ever seen in his 35-year career in football.
Cuper, 55, returned to Spain in June and since he last managed in La Liga, Barcelona have emerged as the dominant force in domestic and European football, winning three Primera Division titles and two Champions Leagues.
The former Inter Milan chief takes his Racing side to Camp Nou this weekend, hoping to avoid a repeat of the 3-0 home and away defeats they suffered to Barca last season.
But Cuper is aware of the difficult task facing Racing and took the opportunity lavish praise on the Catalans ahead of the match, with the former Argentina defender claiming they are the closest thing he's seen to football perfection his lifetime.
"I have a very clear opinion about Barcelona," Cuper said. "Since I've been in the world of football, I've never seen anything like them. They are the tops. They're the best team in the world, far ahead of the rest."
"They have everything, they've broken the mould. To add something new, I'd say they are a team without equal. At times the forwards are in midfield and vice versa, and the defenders become the most dangerous forwards.
"Can anybody tell me whether [Sergio] Busquets is a defender or midfield player, whether [Lionel] Messi is a winger, striker, midfield player, or plays just behind the strikers, not to mention [Javier] Mascherano. I've always said that perfection doesn't exist, but Barca are the closest I've ever seen."
