Dunn: Blackburn squad behind Kean

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn insists under-fire manager Steve Kean has the full backing of the players.

• Blog: Please turn out the lights

Kean has come under heavy criticism this season for his side's poor performances, with Rovers currently foundering in 19th place in the Premier League table after seven games.

The fans have become increasingly disllusioned with Kean's reign at Ewood Park and many waved banners calling for the Scot to be sacked during the recent 4-0 home defeat to Manchester City.

But despite the growing antagonism of supporters, Dunn - who first played for the Blackburn first-team 13 years ago - has stressed that Kean has not lost the dressing-room and urged fans to show patience.

"It is very difficult for the players to see what we saw on Saturday towards him because we know how hard he works," Dunn said. "We know how hard he works at the training ground, together with all the staff. We need to be a little bit patient and I'm sure that things will turn around."

Kean and the majority of his squad have used the international break to go on tour to India, where the Scot continues to bat off questions about his future.

"When I go on the training ground and see the lads responding, and get the backing of the family and the majority of the fans, then I am happy in my work and as long as I feel that we will turn things around. I have no doubt about that.''
