Allen hits out at Wenger

Tottenham Hotspur coach Clive Allen has described Arsene Wenger as "two-bob" after a disagreement following Sunday's North London derby.

• Sagna suffers broken leg
• Bale: Arsenal now beatable

Wenger is in the midst of his most difficult spell since arriving at Arsenal 15 years ago, and the 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane on Sunday leaves the Gunners two points clear of the relegation zone in 15th.

At the end of the game, Wenger appeared to have a row with Allen, with whom he had a spat after last season's 3-3 draw, and the Spurs assistant first-team coach said on Sunday: "He refused to shake my hand. He says he didn't see or hear me, but he's two-bob, he is."

Allen was accused of swearing at Wenger but added: "No, I didn't call him any dirty word."

Wenger played down the incident. "Nothing happened," he said. "I shook the hand of the manager and the assistant. How many hands do I have to shake? Is that a prescription?

"No words were exchanged. If the story of the game is Clive Allen, you must ask him. I shook the hands of the manager and assistant manager. I can only repeat that 'did he want to make himself the story?' Yes."

Harry Redknapp refused to be drawn into the row and suggested he was happy with his own relationship with Wenger.

He said: "I didn't really see what happened. Arsene shook hands with me and I was pleased with that. I think Clive went to shake hands and he missed him. He didn't see him.

"If you're going to shake hands, either do it and mean it or don't do it at all. If he doesn't want to, then he shouldn't. Clive wasn't happy."
