Acosta suffers injury blow

Racing Santander striker Lautaro Acosta was today ruled out for up to three months after damaging the meniscus in his right knee during Sunday's goalless draw with Sporting Gijon.

Acosta suffered the injury after 22 minutes at El Molinon and was forced off shortly afterwards.

"At the time I thought it was just a sprain or something similar," he told Racing's official website, "so I carried on, but a few minutes later I was going to defend a ball in the area and I felt the crack in the knee when turning."

He added: "Now I have to think only about recovering as soon as possible. It's disappointing but at least I know I will be able to rehab in two or three months."

Acosta, 23, is on loan at Racing from Sevilla.
