Six wins on the spin for Bayern
Bayern Munich maintained their position at the summit of the Bundesliga table as they cruised to a sixth consecutive league victory courtesy of a 3-0 scalp of Bayer Leverkusen.
Erik Jendrisek pulled a goal back for Freiburg in the 83rd minute. The victory came just days after Eichkorn replaced Ralf Rangnick, who stepped down from his post as Schalke coach. Borussia Dortmund came from behind to get their season back on the rails after back-to-back defeats with a 2-1 win at Mainz. Nicolai Muller put the hosts in front in the 33rd minute, but Ivan Perisic's first Bundesliga goal in the 64th minute brought Dortmund level. Lukasz Piszczek then clinched the win for the Westphalians with practically the last kick of the game, taking them back into the top 10, six points adrift of league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach. Ashkan Dejagah's goal gave 10-man Wolfsburg their second straight home victory at the expense of struggling Kaiserslautern as the home side won 1-0. Wolfsburg went a man down just seconds before half-time when Sotirios Kyrgiakos saw red but the hosts held firm and snatched the points when Dejagah fired home on 63 minutes. Augsburg earned a valuable point in what is expected to be a fight against relegation with a goalless draw at home against Hannover in a match that lacked quality in the final third of the pitch.
