Premier Showdown - Sept 17-18

Another good weekend for the Rest of the World last time out as Plamen Kazakov secured another win for our team of challengers to send them clear at the top. Not so great from our reigning champion however, with Tommy Smyth yet to pick up a single point. Joining us this weekend is Ben Rimmer. Ben tells us: "Hey guys, I'm 23, living in Houston and going to the University of Houston for my last semester. "Starting in January I'm moving to England to start an internship, and I hope I can see my first live Premier League game during my stay. I support Liverpool because that's where my grandparents are from. "I think United and City are bound to be the frontrunners this season, although I do think that even with teams like those, there's still bound to be some major point blunders during the season. And thats why I think teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham will be gnawing at their heels all season. Sorry Arsenal. "Good luck to you guys."

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPNsoccernet journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

A woefully low-scoring round, but Ben's correct score at Villa Park proved crucial and the ROTW are on a roll! They're pretty much half way to last season's score after a mere five rounds!

Table after Round 5
Rest of the World: 10.5
Dale: 4.5
Tommy: 0

Final table 2010-11
Tommy: 46.5
Dale: 45
Rest of the World: 22.5

Best week's total of season: 13, Tommy Smyth (from eight fixtures).

So do you think you can beat the best of the best? Now is your chance to find out!
