Denmark defender Simon Kjaer has returned to Serie A with Roma, after completing a loan move from Wolfsburg.
Kjaer, 22, underwent his medical last week but his switch from the Bundesliga back to Italy, where he played for Palermo between 2008 and 2010, was only finalised hours before the end of the transfer window.
The Denmark international endured a difficult spell at Wolfsburg, where he arrived with an excellent reputation after starring for the Rosanero.
But he has the opportunity to prove himself again in Italy after becoming Luis Enrique's 14th summer signing.
"I am delighted to be at Roma,'' Kjaer said. "Roma is a great team and Rome is a beautiful city. When the opportunity to come here emerged, I took just five seconds to decide.
"I believe we can have a good season. We have a good team with quality players like Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti. There are also young players so there is a good mix in the group.''
