St Etienne have agreed deals to sign Banel Nicolita and Max Gradel, subject to medicals, from Steaua Bucharest and Leeds United respectively.
The Ligue 1 club announced the double swoop on their official website, saying: "ASSE has gone on the offensive,'' a statement said. "On Tuesday evening, agreements were reached for the arrivals of Romanian midfielder Banel Nicolita and Leeds striker Max-Alain Gradel.
"Both players, who have been in the sights of St Etienne for several weeks, will on Wednesday undergo the traditional medical before completing the final terms of their contracts with ASSE.''
Romania international Nicolita, 26, served as Steaua's captain last season, and has been with the club since 2004, while Gradel impressed for Leeds last season with 18 goals and seven assists in the Championship.
Gradel was named both Fans Player Of The Year and The Players Player Of the Year and St Etienne's coach Christophe Galtier was pleased with the capture.
"(He is) Very versatile, able to play on all fronts of the attack and will bring its qualities of impact and finishing,'' he told the club's official website.
Romanian winger Banel Nicolita is also expected to complete his move to Les Verts later today.
