Fenerbahçe are to appeal to the arbitration board of the Turkish Football Federation over their suspension from the 2011-12 Champions League.
Under pressure from UEFA in connection with the match-fixing investigation in Turkish football, the federation withdrew champions Fenerbahce from the competition, replacing them with runners-up Trabzonspor.
But now the club are to take their case to appeal in the hope that they will be reinstated.
A statement on the club's official site read: ''We would like to inform that our lawyers are going to the arbitration board of the Turkish Football Federation in order to cancel the decision of withdrawing Fenerbahce from the 2011/2012 UEFA Champions League.''
The club also released a statement on its website on Monday and thanked all Fenerbahce fans supporting their club during these "tough times."
