Manchester United will face old rivals Leeds United in the third round of the Carling Cup.
In Saturday's draw, Sir Alex Ferguson's Premier League champions were pitted against
Simon Grayson's Championship side.
Ferguson will be looking to avenge the 1-0 FA Cup defeat to the same side two
years ago at Old Trafford when Leeds were in League One.
Brighton, following their fine start to life in the Championship, were drawn at
home to Liverpool at the Amex Stadium.
Holders Birmingham, entering the competition at this stage because of their
involvement in the Europa League, begin the defence of the trophy they won
against Arsenal with a trip to face big-spending FA Cup winners Manchester City
at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will face West London rivals Fulham.
