Papiss Demba Cisse has revealed he would like to leave Freiburg before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Senegal international Cisse rose to prominence after scoring 22 goals for Freiburg last season and already has four to his name in the 2011-12 campaign. That has alerted a host of clubs around Europe to his talent and the 26-year-old believes now is the time to try his luck elsewhere.
He told SWR: ''I want to leave. Yes I have a contract but I want to test myself at another level. Some clubs are in for me and some calls have been made.''
Cisse, who is contracted to the badenova-Stadion club until 2014, has been linked with moves to Wolfsburg and Schalke in the Bundesliga as well as a host of English clubs, most notably Sunderland and Tottenham.
Freiburg chairman Fritz Keller was relaxed when quizzed about Cisse's future.
He said: ''We are totally calm. The player is just doing a little advertising! That's fine. As long as he is still scoring goals for us then all is well.''
