Premier Showdown - May 22

And so, against all the odds, we go down to the last day in Premier Showdown. Tommy Smyth looked a certain winner just a few short weeks ago. Now it's down to a one-off round but Tommy will still be champion if he picks up any points. Dale Johnson has won three of the last four rounds, and it is now five rounds since Tommy picked up any points. Could we see a tie for first place? That will happen if Dale draws with the Rest of the World this week. And that leads us on to our ROTW player, and for the final round of the season we are joined by Ed Stansmore, who comes from a land down under. Ed tells us: "I'm 61 years old from Perth in Western Australia. I've supported Manchester United for over 57 years (and am their fiercest critic). "Season Review - This was not the best team in SAF's reign but strength in depth, never say die attitude and self belief is what carried them through this year. "I work for Woodside Energy Limited as QA/QC Engineer."

Let's check out those predictions.

For each round of Premier League action we invite one reader to take on Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth and ESPNsoccernet journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Tommy is saved by Ed, who gets two correct scorelines to win the last round of the season and thwart Dale's hopes of retaining his crown. Congratulations Tommy on your first ever Showdown title!

Final table
Tommy: 46.5
Dale: 45
Rest of the World: 22.5

Best week's total of season so far: 13, Tommy Smyth (from eight fixtures).
