Nancy say they have made "a very good offer" for Monaco forward Benjamin Moukandjo.
Cameroon forward Moukandjo, 22, joined the principality club in January from Nimes and scored three times in 16 Ligue 1 matches in the second half of last season.
Nancy vice-president Nicolas Holveck told sports daily L'Equipe: "We have made a very nice offer for a player Monaco bought for 500,000 euros from Nimes last January. As yet, we have not received an answer."
Monaco coach Laurent Banide appears resigned to Moukandjo's exit, adding: "For Benjamin, things should accelerate in the coming days in the sense of a departure."
There have also been reports that another Monaco forward, Dieumerci Mbokani, could be set to join Anderlecht, who are poised to complete the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
