Sneijder expected to play in Super Cup

Inter Milan do not appear concerned that Wesley Sneijder will leave the club anytime in the near future, after confirming he will play in Saturday's Italian Super Cup clash with AC Milan.

• Scholes hails 'brilliant' Sneijder
• Gasperini unfazed by speculation
• Sneijder: Move could happen
•  On The Move: Transfer blog

A report in Tuesday's Daily Mirror claimed Inter have "paved the way" for the Dutchman to join Manchester United, accepting "in principal" an offer in the region of £30 million. It was claimed by the newspaper that Sneijder would join United by the end of the week, if he succeeded in agreeing personal terms.

Momentum behind the deal appeared to gather still further when Paul Scholes heaped praised on the Netherlands international during an interview on MUTV. Scholes became the latest in a line of former United stars to say Sneijder would be a perfect fit for the Old Trafford club.

However, any details of a potential deal had not filtered through to coach Gian Piero Gasperini as Inter arrived in Beijing. Ahead of the weekend's Super Cup match against their Milanese rivals, Gasperini revealed Sneijder will figure in his starting XI.

"There is no Sneijder problem," he told the media in China. "He's playing for us, training with us and he'll play on Saturday."

Inter's handling of the situation bears stark contrast to Arsenal's management of Barcelona target Cesc Fabregas, who was completely left out of the recent Emirates Cup with Arsene Wenger stating: " He is not settled, with his injury and his situation. That has to be sorted out soon. Cesc is torn between two loves. I can understand that but we want to be certain about his commitment."
