Brazilian midfielder Diego has said that he is considering a move to Atletico Madrid, claiming he does not want to play for Wolfsburg anymore.
The German side were embarrassingly humbled in the German Cup by Regionalliga Nord side RB Leipzig on Friday night and, having fallen out of favour with the management staff, Diego is set to move on this summer.
"There is an official offer [from Atletico Madrid]," Diego told Kicker. "We have had contact with other clubs, but Atletico is a concrete option. I don't want to be at Wolfsburg any longer."
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann could be set to follow him after revealing his admiration for Atletico.
The club have €45 million to spend after selling Sergio Aguero to Manchester City and could strengthen further with the 20-year-old Frenchman who has been touted as one of the hottest prospects in Spain.
"I [have] thought a lot about it. I [have] had time. I [have] chosen but it's my president [that] will decide," Griezmann told L'Equipe. "Atletico are a great club, very popular. I want to grow alongside players like Diego Forlan and Diego Costa.''
