Mancini to bring in two more

Roberto Mancini has revealed that Manchester City's summer spending is set to continue, even after this week's £38 million capture of Argentina international Sergio Aguero.

Aguero targets trophies

Striker Aguero, who joined from Atletico Madrid, was City's third signing of the summer, following Gael Clichy and Stefan Savic into the Etihad Stadium, which will host Champions League football for the first time next season.

The City squad is already bursting at the seams, with the likes of Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge, Emmanuel Adebayor and Nedum Onuoha surplus to requirements - but it still seems that further arrivals are imminent.

"We still want to get a midfielder and another winger," Mancini said. "If we want to compete with the top teams, in the Premiership and England, we need other players."

Meanwhile, Mancini confirmed that Aguero will play no part in this weekend's Dublin Super Cup, which also features Celtic, Airtricity XI and Inter Milan. Instead, he is expected to make his debut against Manchester Unitd in the Community Shield clash at Wembley in the first weekend of August.

Aguero said: "In five years I have only had one holiday so I'm used to it. One week of rest and a couple of days of training and I'll be ready to play."
