Milan not interested in Fabregas

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has denied that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is a target of the Serie A club.

• Cesc deal 'very complicated'
• Xavi continues push for Cesc
• Schweinsteiger happy at Bayern

Barcelona are reportedly holding negotiations with Arsenal over a fee for Spain international Fabregas, who has been regularly linked with a return to his homeland, and it has been suggested that Milan could rival Barca for Fabregas' signature

But Galliani has quashed rumours of interest. He said: "I understand that Fabregas is an Arsenal player and not a Barcelona one. There will be no battle between Barcelona and us for him. His transfer fee is hyperbolic and he's not one of our objectives."

Galliani also played down approaches for Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger and Real Madrid's Kaka, adding: "Schweinsteiger is a flag bearer and he won't be coming to Milan. As for Kaka, that would be a difficult operation with financial complications."

He did, however, fail to rule out a swoop for Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo, who is still yet to agree a contract extension at La Viola after entering the final year of his current contract.

Galliani said: "We've not pushed for Montolivo, but then anything is possible in the market. It's one of a lot of operations that are still alive. Enough now though with the Mr X, if he arrives then it will be at the end of the window."
