Ronaldinho hat-trick lifts Flamengo
Ronaldinho scored a hat-trick as Flamengo came from 3-0 down at Santos to edge a nine-goal thriller 5-4 in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Flamengo found themselves three goals down inside 25 minutes thanks to a double from Borges and one from Neymar, but Ronaldinho struck three minutes later and they were level two minutes before half-time thanks to further efforts from Thiago Neves and Deivid.
Neymar struck again five minutes after the restart, but Ronaldinho again levelled after 67 minutes, before completing his hat-trick nine minutes from time to seal the dramatic victory for his side.
That left them third in the table, one point behind second-placed Sao Paulo, who were also involved in a thriller, holding off a Coritiba comeback to win 4-3 in a match which finished 10-a-side.
Sao Paulo appeared to be cruising to victory as goals from Carlinhos Paraiba, Juan and Rhodolfo put them 3-0 up inside half an hour, and things got even tougher for the hosts when they had Davi dismissed just before the break.
Lucas scored to make it 4-0 nine minutes after the restart, but Rafinha struck back, before Bill scored after 74 and 86 minutes to make life difficult for the visitors. They could not find a leveller though, even when Denilson was sent-off to even up the teams.
Mauricio Ramos scored the only goal in as Palmeiras lifted themselves into fourth with a 1-0 win at Figueirense.
Maicosuel and German Herrera netted to lead Botafogo to a 2-1 win over Avai, who had led through Filho Dirceu's early strike.
Ezequiel Miralles scored an equaliser in the 61st minute and was sent off 10-minutes later in Gremio's 1-1 draw with America MG, for whom Willian Rocha scored in the 16th minute.
Andre De Souza scored the only goal in Atletico Mineiro's 1-0 win over Fluminense, while Felipe netted twice to lead Atletico Goianiense to a 2-0 victory over Cruzeiro.
