Schweinsteiger happy at Bayern

Bastian Schweinsteiger says he is flattered to be linked with AC Milan but is happy at Bayern Munich.

Serie A champions Milan have been expected to make a marquee signing this summer, with a midfielder labelled 'Mr X' set to arrive, but his identity remains unclear.

Schweinsteiger, 26, has been among those suggested but, asked if he is Milan's 'Mr X', he told Sky Italia: "I don't know - you'd have to ask the president.

"It's always nice to see your named linked with a big club like Milan, but I'm happy here in Munich and it would be very difficult to persuade Bayern to let me go. I'm young and still have time to play abroad later on."

New Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes said this week that Schweinsteiger, who extended his contract until 2016 in December, is not for sale.

"Bastian Schweinsteiger is held in high regard at this club," Heynckes said. "A year ago he was playing on the same level as players such as Xavi and Andres Iniesta. He is not for sale."
