Alexis Sanchez has confirmed that his decision to join Barcelona was swayed by the opportunity to play alongside some of the world's best players.
Sanchez, a Chile international, had been linked with moves to Manchester United, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Chelsea before eventually concluding a transfer to Champions League winners Barcelona.
And, according to the ex-Udinese winger, the opportunity to learn from the likes of Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Lionel Messi was too good to turn down.
"I am very happy and I came to Barcelona to learn from the best in the world like Xavi and [Lionel] Messi," Sanchez said. "I want to leave an impression and I hope to help Barcelona win more titles. Barcelona are the best team in the world."
"He [head coach Pep Guardiola] called me and for me this was very important. It gave me confidence that he wanted me."
Sanchez is expected to have to compete with Messi, David Villa and Pedro for a place in Barcelona's esteemed front three.
