Benfica bring in Capdevila

Benfica have completed the signing of Joan Capdevila from Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.

Capdevila, 33, has penned a two-year contract at Benfica, who have been seeking a new left-back after Fabio Coentrao signed for Real Madrid this summer.

The Spain international, who has 57 caps to his name, spent four years at Villarreal after joining the club from Deportivo.

While Benfica have not revealed the price paid for Capdevila, they have revealed his contract includes a buy-out clause of £17.5 million.
