Galatasaray sign Muslera

Galatasaray have signed Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera from Lazio on a five-year deal.

Muslera, 25, starred for Uruguay against Argentina in the Copa America and saved a penalty from striker Carlos Tevez to knock the hosts out of the tournament. However with his contract up at the end of 2012, he was allowed to leave by the Italian club.

A statement on the Galatasaray website read: ''Professional football player Nestor Fernando Muslera has signed a contract for the 2011-12 season, for five seasons. Accordingly, €2 million will be paid to him every season.''

Lazio already have his replacement after they signed Federico Marchetti from Cagliari for €5.2m earlier this month.
