Uruguay midfielder Alvaro Pereira says his side must stay grounded as they prepare to face the winners of the match between Paraguay and Venezuela in the Copa America final.
Pereira's side overcame Peru 2-0 thanks to quickfire double in the second-half by Luis Suarez and the defender has now warned his side over complacency as they seek to bring South America's most prestigious trophy back home.
"This victory is important, I'm very happy, but we must keep our feet on the ground," he told the Copa America official website. "This team has demonstrated an amazing hunger for glory and now we must think about what is and how we did from the beginning, when we thought all games were finals."
"There are always mistakes and we made mistakes (today), but now we must correct them and hopefully we can win this cup."
Meanwhile, coach Oscar Tabarez praised Suarez for his impact in helping to seal a famous win.
"He [Suarez] is an elite player in world football," Tabarez said in his post-match press conference. "We talked about having more presence up top. That is how we got the first goal. Forlan and Suarez appeared. After that, Peru kept attacking, but we had it under control."
