Bolton keen on Welbeck loan

Having lost Daniel Sturridge back to Chelsea, Bolton are reported to be interested in taking young Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck on loan this season.

Welbeck, 20, faces a tough test to get into the United lineup, with give other strikers - Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez , Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Federico Macheda - ahead of him in the pecking order.

And, despite quotes from Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of last season saying that Welbeck would be given a chance to shine, the Trotters are reportedly poised to pounce for the striker if he is sent out on loan again.

Welbeck impressed at Sunderland last term, scoring six goals while at the Stadium of Light and he has not featured for United for a year and a half.
