Sevilla want Dos Santos loan

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has admitted talks over a deal for Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos have stalled.

Dos Santos has struggled to settle at Tottenham since joining the club from Barcelona in 2008, making just two Premier League starts for the club.

Last campaign the Mexico international was loaned out to Racing Santander, and he has previously had spells at Ipswich and Galatasaray.

Sevilla are interested in signing Dos Santos on a loan deal for next campaign, but the Spanish club claim Spurs are holding out for a permanent agreement, amid suggestions Udinese and Valencia are interested.

Del Nido said: "Sevilla seek the player on loan with the option to buy but Tottenham want the transfer to be permanent. We can rule that out for now.

"Under the conditions Tottenham want it is ruled out today. If there is a sale, it would have to be on different terms."
