Cisse signs for Lazio, Stankevicius joy

Djibril Cisse has completed his move from Panathinaikos to Lazio after passing a medical in the Italian capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Lazio reached an agreement with the Greek giants earlier this month to sign the France international in a reported €5.8 million deal. The 29-year-old was welcomed by 300 Lazio fans at Rome's Fiumicino airport for his medical and signed a four-year contract with the Biancoceleste club.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito told the press: "We have great quality now and we hope to show this on the pitch. All the players have quality and Cisse is eager to do well on the field."

Meanwhile, Marius Stankevicius has spoken of his joy at completing his move to Lazio from Sampdoria.

Stankevicius, a Lithuania international, becomes the Biancoceleste's fifth signing this summer. He has moved to Lazio for an undisclosed fee and has penned a three-year contract with the Roman outfit.

"I am delighted to be here,'' Stankevicius said. "I am looking forward to begin this new adventure and to meet my new team-mates.''

Stankevicius joined Sampdoria in 2008 and made 44 appearances for the club while also spending time with Spanish sides Sevilla and Valencia on loan. The 29-year-old defender has joined Miroslav Klose, Federico Marchetti, Abdoulay Konko and Senad Lulic as new arrivals in Rome this summer.
