Jedinak makes Palace switch

Socceroo Mile Jedinak has signed a three-year deal with English Championship club Crystal Palace.

The former Central Coast Mariners midfielder has amassed 25 caps for Australia, including at this year's Asian Cup in Qatar, and had been seeking a move away from Turkish side Genclerbirligi for some months.

"I am delighted to be joining Crystal Palace Football Club at this stage in my career," Jedinak said on Monday."I am impressed by Dougie Freedman and what he wants to achieve at the club and I cannot wait to get started.

"Crystal Palace has a fantastic heritage and a wonderful set of fans and I am looking forward to playing in front of them at Selhurst Park.

"Playing in the UK has always been an ambition of mine and I am totally determined to make my time here an absolute success."

Jedinak will link-up with former Socceroo, and current Palace first team coach Tony Popovic at Selhurst Park. Popovic recommended the towering 26-year-old to Freedman.

The Palace manager added: "I am absolutely delighted with this signing. I have tracked Mile for some time since he was first brought to our attention by Tony Popovic and his contacts in Australia.

"Mile has a fantastic international pedigree and I know he will be a huge success at the club. Mile attracted attention from a number of clubs and I am so pleased that he finally chose Crystal Palace."
