Manchester City defender Micah Richards has branded a report that he is demanding a weekly six-figure wage as "nonsense".
Richards, 23, is in talks over extending his stay at City, with his current terms due to expire in two years.
A recent rumour speculated the right-back was stalling over penning a fresh agreement as he was holding out for £100,000-a-week.
But Richards told the club's official website: "I notice that one (newspaper) was claiming this weekend that I was demanding £100,000-per-week before I sign a new contract at City.
"That is nonsense. They don't know what has been said, offered, or asked for, so instead they just make up a figure which makes everyone think that I am being greedy. It's annoying but I suppose it goes with the territory these days."
Richards, who has made 141 league appearances for City, will compete in the Champions League next season after his side finished third in the Premier League last campaign.
