Bojan admits Barcelona exit is imminent

Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic has indicated he is on the brink of leaving the La Liga champions but he has mixed emotions about potentially joining Roma.

The Serie A side, who will be coached next season by former Barcelona B manager Luis Enrique, have already reached an agreement with Bojan but the deal has yet to be finalised.

Tottenham are reportedly willing to offer the 20-year-old striker an alternative destination, but the youngster is expected to reluctantly head for Rome.

"I am experiencing a bittersweet situation,'' he told Corriere dello Sport. "It's not easy to leave Barcelona but in any case I feel fortunate. I'm only 20 and I know I still will be able to achieve many things in football.

"Roma are very interested in me and it could be a great experience. I have not spoken to Luis Enrique but I know he is keen on having me. Italian football is respected all over the world and an experience in Serie A would be good for my career.''

Bojan, who struggled to get regular first team football at Barca, is set to join Roma in a €10 million transfer deal and is expected to sign a five-year contract.

Meanwhile, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has denied Erik Lamela's move to the Italian capital is a done deal.

Reports in the Argentinian media claimed the Serie A side had reached an agreement with River Plate over the teenager's transfer this summer.

The Giallorossi are competing with several clubs for the highly-rated attacking midfielder, including Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

"We are interested in Lamela, I cannot deny this,'' Sabatini told Gazzetta dello Sport. "But to say that everything is done has somewhat surprised me.

"He is a strong and charismatic player but we are not as close to completing the deal as they say in Argentina.

"We can say that we are just one of the numerous clubs interested in the player and that we are equidistant with respect to the other clubs that are also keen to sign him.''
