Marcos Senna snubs Swansea
Spain midfielder Marcos Senna has revealed he is staying at Villarreal and will not be joining Swansea City this summer.
Senna, 34, was due to decide whether he wanted to make the move to Wales by the end of the week, but has now opted to stay in Spain for the foreseeable future.
The Euro 2008 winner told his Twitter followers the news on Tuesday night and thanked the club's president Fernando Roig for his confidence, saying: "I decided to accept the proposal of the Villarreal family and I thank Roig for his confidence. I am very happy to continue."
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers had previously said that a deal for Senna would be ''a bit too rich for us'' and will now turn his attentions to Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale, who he reportedly submitted a bid for on Tuesday.
