Coyle: Al-Habsi transfer close
Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi's transfer to Wigan is expected to be completed on Monday, following the Latics' decision to call an afternoon press conference.
Earlier in the day Bolton manager Owen Coyle said that Al-Habsi was nearing a permanent transfer, although there has been no confirmation that the Latics press conference is in connection to the Oman goalkeeper.
Al-Habsi, 29, was on loan at the DW Stadium last season and impressed enough to keep Chris Kirkland out of the side. The two clubs have agreed a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £4 million.
Coyle said: "We could easily have kept him but I have to be fair to Ali. It is good business. If that is concluded, we will wish him well."
Al-Habsi made 39 appearances for Wigan and their manager, Roberto Martinez, has made no secret of his desire to sign him permanently.
