Giuseppe Rossi's hopes of making a summer transfer to Barcelona are over, according to the Villarreal striker's agent.
Rossi has been strongly linked with a move away from Villarreal, with head coach Juan Carlos Garrido conceding the former Manchester United forward could be sold if a sufficient fee is received.
European champions Barca have been mentioned as potential suitors for the 24-year-old, who scored 18 goals in 36 La Liga starts for the Yellow Submarine last season.
However, with Barca seemingly closing in on the capture of Udinese star Alexis Sanchez, Rossi no longer looks bound for Camp Nou.
"It's a deal that is definitely off," Rossi's agent, Federico Pastorello, told Sky Sport 24 on Thursday.
"We are now evaluating a number of options for Rossi's future, but we can't rule out the possibility that he could remain at Villarreal. How much will he cost? His valuation is that of a top player."
