N'Koulou moves to Marseille

Marseille have completed the signing of defender Nicolas N'Koulou from recently-relegated Monaco for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million.

N'Koulou, part of Cameroon's 2010 World Cup squad, had offers from several of France's biggest clubs but he feels he has made the right decision.

"I tried to weigh up the pros and cons and see what was important to me as a sportsman,'' he said. "I'm here to continue my way and progress. I expect that it will be hard and I'm ready mentally.''

The 21-year-old, who can also play in midfield, joins fellow new boys Morgan Amalfitano and Jeremy Morel at Marseille as Didier Deschamps looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.
