Nurnberg coach Dieter Hecking has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him with the Bundesliga club until June 2014.
Hecking, whose existing deal was due to expire in June 2012, took over at the helm in December 2009 and kept the Bavarians in the Bundesliga via the play-offs that term before leading the club to a sixth-place finish last season.
The 46-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm delighted by the trust the FC Nurnberg management have shown in me by extending my contract ahead of schedule.
"We want to continue on the path we've been treading and build on our successful cooperation in the future. The goal is to make further strides in the Bundesliga and establish the club in the top flight."
Club chairman Klaus Schramm added: "We confirm, with the agreement of the supervisory board, the early contract renewal of Dieter Hecking, with whose work we are extremely satisfied. The extension of the employment relationship was the logical step.'"
