Football mourns nomad coach Ivic

Former Croatia coach Tomislav Ivic has died at the age of 77, the country's football federation has announced.

Ivic is best remembered for winning eight league titles in six different countries during his coaching career, enjoying success with Hajduk Split, Ajax, Anderlecht, Porto, Panathinaikos and Marseille.

He also led Atletico Madrid to the Copa del Rey title in 1991.

In addition, Ivic had spells in charge of Yugoslavia and Iran as well as being joint coach of Croatia between 1994 and 1995, helping them qualify for the Euro 96 finals in England - their first major tournament since gaining independence five years earlier.
