Ganso plots Milan switch

Santos star Ganso has revealed he wants to secure victory in the Club World Cup and then seal a move to AC Milan in January.

Ganso, 21, is rated as one of the finest young talents in Brazil and has for some time been linked with both Milan clubs.

With Santos having secured success in the Copa Libertadores this week, though, he wants to remain at the club until the end of the year to compete against Barcelona in December's Club World Cup before securing a switch to the Rossoneri.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "My dream is to beat Messi's Barcelona in the FIFA Club World Cup and then join AC Milan in January."

Santos are asking around €50 million for Ganso, and there have been indications that Milan's interest has cooled as a result of his price tag and injury record.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has now said that, as Italian clubs are currently only allowed to sign one non-EU player per season, a move is not practical at present.

Galliani told Sky Sport Italia: "He'd like to join us in January and we'd like that too, but he's a non-EU player, so the rules have to be changed first. We hope that the non-EU restrictions are altered."
