Muller confident of success

Thomas Muller believes Bayern Munich's summer signings will give them the edge over Borussia Dortmund next season as the Bavarians look to reclaim the Bundesliga title.

Boateng hopeful over move
Tranmere confirm Jennings bid

Dortmund ran away with the league last season, finishing seven points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen with Bayern back in third, ten points behind Jurgen Klopp's men.

That relative failure has prompted a fresh recruitment drive, with Germany No. 1 Manuel Neuer moving to the Allianz Arena from Schalke along with former Schalke full-back Rafinha and striker Nils Petersen, who arrived from Energie Cottbus.

Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng, Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal and Gamba Osaka striker Takashi Usami are also reportedly on the wish-list of new coach Jupp Heynckes, as well as Tranmere teenager Dale Jennings.

Muller believes the transfer activity will give Bayern the edge in 2011-12.

He told the Bild newspaper: "Of course we know Dortmund will be a serious competitor in the battle for the championship, but I am happy with our transfer policy and I am sure we will bring the trophy back to Munich in the upcoming season.

"It is proof of the quality of the squad that half the players in the national team will play for us. It is also an advantage for Germany that we can play together at Bayern."

Muller was particularly happy to see international team-mate Neuer sign after a transfer saga which lasted several weeks, adding: "Manuel will take us forward. He has ten good years ahead of him but to become the world's best keeper he needs to win titles. I think Manuel will mature into a world class goalkeeper in Munich."
