Kalinic could quit Blackburn
Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinic is ready to quit Ewood Park this summer after failing to get opportunities since new boss Steve Kean took over at Christmas.
Kalinic, who cost the club £6 million from Hajduk Split two years ago, has never settled in England and has fallen out of favour following a number of below-par performances.
"We want to talk to the coach as soon as possible so we know what happens next. Nikola Kalinic is contracted to Blackburn and so we will not talk about other clubs,'' Kalinic's agent Tomislav Erceg said.
"There are a lot of clubs we believe who would want Niko. He needs to know if he is going to play for Blackburn first though. There is no problem with the club and if they want him to stay he will stay."
Meanwhile, Blackburn striker Benjani Mwaruwari claims he will return to Ewood Park for another season despite his contract expiring at the end of last season.
The former Zimbabwe international revealed he has been offered a new 12-month deal and is in the process of completing the formalities of the paperwork.
''Yes, I will be back at Blackburn Rovers again next season,'' the 32-year-old told the Lancashire Telegraph. ''I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club.
''I don't know if there were other clubs who wanted me because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted now.''
