Defensive midfielder Rasmus Lindgren has left Ajax to join Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg on a free transfer.
Lindgren has spent his entire senior career to date in Holland, helping Ajax to the Eredivisie title last season and having also had a prior spell with the Amsterdam club and a stint at FC Groningen.
Salzburg coach Ricardo Moniz told his club's website: "We wanted a player in his position to help us. We are glad that it worked out. We have only three weeks until the start of the season and our quality has clearly been improved.''
Meanwhile, forward Derk Boerrigter's return to the Amsterdam ArenA from RKC Waalwijk has been finalised. The clubs reached agreement for the 24-year-old former Ajax youth academy player last month and he underwent a medical with the Dutch champions.
RKC have now announced on their website that the final details of the deal have been sorted and he has signed a contract until summer 2014 with Ajax.
