Palermo swoop for Cetto

Palermo have signed defender Mauro Cetto from Toulouse on a three-year deal.

Cetto, 29, was out of contract at the Ligue 1 club, allowing him to complete the move to Serie A as a free agent. Cetto is now looking forward to a fresh challenge after a decade in France with first Nantes and then Toulouse.

"I wanted a new experience and I have always dreamed of playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world, like the Italian one,'' Cetto told Palermo's website. "To do this I've chosen a big club like Palermo, a team which in recent years has done great things.

"I enjoyed my time with Toulouse but I needed new challenges and a club with big ambitions. Because of this, I immediately said yes to Palermo and I turned down other offers I received. I am sure I will do very well here and I can't wait to hit new heights with my new team.''
