CSL: Shanghai close in on Beijing

Shanghai Shenhua have cut the lead at the top of the Chinese Super League thanks to a 3-2 win over Jiangsu Shuntian. Meanwhile, Beijing Guoan were unable to extend their advantage at the top of the table after being held to a 1-1 draw away to Henan Jianye.

The leaders had looked set to pick up three points on the road when Joel Griffiths put them ahead in the 17th minute, but Leandro Netto equalised from the penalty spot with 12 minutes remaining for third-bottom Henan.

Shanghai capitalised on Beijing's slip-up by overturning a two-goal half-time deficit to see off Jiangsu.

Goals from Lu Bofei and Paolo De La Haza had given Jiangsu a healthy interval lead but Luis Salmeron pulled one back with a penalty five minutes into the second half and then restored parity nine minutes later before Duvier Riascos' last-gasp winner sealed all three points.

Liaoning climbed to fourth thanks to a 4-0 win at Chengdu Blades, secured thanks to goals from Zhao Junzhe, Xu Yang, Yu Hanchao and Zhang Ye.

Shanxi Zhongxin moved up to sixth with a 2-1 triumph against fifth-placed Hangzhou Greentown, Qu Bo's last-gasp goal proving decisive after Wilson had cancelled out Sebastian Vazquez's first-half effort for the hosts.

Roda Antar's 50th-minute strike earned seventh-placed Shandong Luneng a 1-0 win over Nanchang Bayi.

Finally, Changchun Yatai and Dalian Shide FC battled out a 2-2 draw.

Zhenyu Du gave the home team the lead on the stroke of half-time but they required an 84th-minute equaliser from Anzur Ismailov to nick a point after Jung-Hwan Ahn's second-half brace had turned the game on its head.
