Klose eyes title bid

New Lazio striker Miroslav Klose believes his club can battle for the league title next season.

The Germany international became Lazio's first summer reinforcement. The 33-year-old joined the Roman outfit as a free agent and put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Serie A outfit.

``Lazio is a very interesting team,'' said Klose on the club4s official website. ``They have a mix of young players and experienced ones. I think it will be an interesting campaign and I am certain we will be able to battle for the scudetto.''

The former Werder Bremen forward endured a disappointing campaign for Bayern Munich in 2010-11, scoring just one goal in 20 Bundesliga appearances.

After four seasons with the German giants, Klose is eager to show his worth in Italy's top flight.

``I am very happy with this new adventure,'' he said.``I cannot wait to make my debut in Serie A. I will try to do my best for Lazio, who have a great team and very strong players.''

Lazio narrowly missed out on Champions League football after a fifth-place finish in Serie A and will compete in the Europa League.
