Italian keeper left red-faced by penalty

An Italian goalkeeper was left embarrassed after celebrating a penalty miss, only to see the ball roll back into the net.

Loris Angeli, the keeper for Italian lower league side Dro, watched as Termeno's Michael Palma hammered his spot-kick against the bar with the shoot-out to secure promotion to Eccellenza (the 6th category of Italian football) locked at 4-4.

But, as Palma sunk to his knees, Angeli ran off in celebration to join his team-mates as the ball then bounced back to earth and spun back in to an unguarded net.

To compound the goalkeeper's embarrassment, Dro then missed their next spot-kick to hand the victory to Termeno.
