Serie A side Chievo have appointed Domenico Di Carlo as their new coach, the club have announced.
Di Carlo succeeds Stefano Pioli, who parted company with the Verona outfit earlier this month to join Palermo.
A statement from the club said: ''Chievo announces that Domenico Di Carlo will guide the first team in the 2011-12 campaign.''
This will be Di Carlo4s second stint at Chievo after guiding the club to Serie A safety in the 2008-09 campaign.
Di Carlo, 47, was out of a job after being dismissed by strugglers Sampdoria in March. Chievo ended the campaign in 11th place.
